Love, Laughter, and the Carousel: Ella & Louis's Magical Day at Marleybrook House
The historic city of Canterbury is known for its ancient walls and magnificent cathedral, and it provided the perfect, peaceful starting point for a wedding day that was anything but ordinary. My two-day stay at the serene Canterbury Cathedral Lodge, nestled right in the Cathedral grounds, offered a beautiful moment of calm before the delightful whirlwind of Ella and Louis's unique celebration at Marleybrook House.
A Morning of Warm Anticipation
The day began early at 10:00 am, capturing the intimate moments of bridal preparations. Ella, the radiant bride-to-be, was surrounded by a beautiful entourage: four devoted bridesmaids and two adorable flower girls. The atmosphere was a wonderful mix of excited chatter, shared laughter, and final touches to hair and makeup, all building towards the moment Ella would step into her dress. It's a privilege to document this time, filled with such genuine warmth and anticipation.
Meanwhile, Louis was preparing with his own team—four sharp-looking groomsmen—ready to support him through the big day.
An Enchanting Outdoor Ceremony
As the morning moved into the afternoon, the excitement grew. Guests began to arrive at 12:00 pm, making their way to the bar for light refreshments. It was a lovely, relaxed prelude, allowing friends and family to mingle and catch up before the main event.
At 1:30 pm, the ceremony was underway in the beautiful grounds of Marleybrook House. It was an outdoor wedding, taking full advantage of the venue's stunning scenery. The processional began with the bridesmaids and flower girls, who made their charming journey down the lawn, paving the way for the star of the show.
Then came the moment everyone was waiting for. Ella, looking breathtaking, made her entrance on the arm of her father, walking down the grassy aisle to meet Louis. Their eyes meeting was a truly beautiful, emotional moment—the culmination of months of planning and years of growing love. The ceremony itself was personal and heartfelt, culminating in their first kiss as husband and wife to a roar of applause.
The Wedding Breakfast and Funfair Finale
With the vows exchanged, the celebration shifted seamlessly into the reception phase. Everyone headed to the outdoor bar for celebratory drinks and canapés, basking in the joy of the newly married couple.
This was followed by the wedding breakfast at 3:30 pm. The speeches were everything they should be: touching, hilarious, and full of heartfelt tributes to Ella and Louis.
But what truly sets a Marleybrook House wedding apart is the magnificent finale. After the formalities, guests were invited to the Marlybrook Fairground for a couple of hours of pure, unadulterated joy. The unique funfair rides—a quirky and wonderful surprise—transformed the evening into a carnival of fun. It was a spectacular sight, capturing the sounds of pure fun, laughter, and exciting funfair rides. Documenting Ella and Louis on the Dodgems and watching their guests lose themselves in the nostalgia and excitement was the perfect closing chapter to a truly unique and joyous wedding day.
Ella and Louis's wedding was a beautiful blend of timeless romance and playful fun, a day I won't soon forget!
