Today I was the wedding photographer for the wedding of Alistair and Claire at New House Farm in Lorton in the Lake District, a luxury Grade II listed wedding venue dating back to 1650 just a short drive away from Crummock Water and Buttermere perfect locations for photos with the bride and groom.

Today started off with the bridal preparations at Scale Hill, a series of small holiday cottages in Cockermouth 5 minutes down the road from the wedding venue. Here I began to photograph the wedding dress, shoes, wedding rings, etc all the usual photographs that I start the day with.

When you attend places like this there is plenty of opportunities to get nice pictures of the dress hanging up, the shoes ect. On this occasion I used the window in the main house by the staircase taking the photo from above looking down at the dress with pictures and antlers on each side of the wall making for quite a nice photo. The morning went on and be photographed the hair and makeup of the bridesmaids and flower girls’ dresses, before leaving the ladies and heading down to the venue at New House Farm to meet the guys and get a couple of photos of the groom Alistair and his best man.

Soon the ceremony was about to begin, the bride and bridesmaids had arrived, and it was time to walk across the courtyard to the wedding ceremony venue a great opportunity to get a photo of the bride walking up with her father.

I was very fortunate with the weather on this day it was bright and sunny with a slight breeze and the main doors that open in the wedding venue letting in plenty of light and fresh air.

After the ceremony, it was time for drinks and canapes on the typical confetti and group photos, before heading off down to Crummock Water in a silver Land Rover  with white ribbons to get some lovely wedding photos of Claire and Alistair down along the shoreline.

we spent some time down the criminal water probably around an hour and a half taking photos and walking around before heading back for the wedding reception speeches on the evening party to get underway.

A lovely wedding at a fantastic location with a great couple surrounded by lovely friends and family a perfect wedding from start to finish.
